Titian Sacred and Profane Love Skateboard Art
Titian painted Sacred and Profane Love around 1514, probably as a wedding gift for Niccolo Aurelio, whose coat of arms appears on the sarcophagus-fountain. Two women sit on either side of Cupid — one clothed, one nude — but scholars still debate which is Sacred and which is Profane. The painting was barely noticed for centuries; in 1899 the Borghese Gallery received an offer of 4 million lire for it and turned it down. It remains at the Galleria Borghese in Rome.
