Skateboard Wall Art

Skateboard wall art is artwork printed onto a real skateboard deck and hung on the wall instead of ridden. At deckarts, every piece is UV-printed onto a genuine 7-ply Grade-A Canadian maple deck measuring 85 × 20 cm, finished matte and glassless, and arrives ready to hang. We offer over 200 designs — classical masterpieces, original artwork and limited artist collaborations — as single decks from €140, two-panel diptychs from around €230, and three-panel triptychs from around €310. deckarts is an independent studio based in Berlin, Germany, and ships across the EU, the US and worldwide.

What is skateboard wall art?

A skateboard deck is a striking canvas: long, narrow, sculptural, with a concave curve and visible wood grain. Skateboard wall art takes that familiar object and turns it into an art piece for the wall — keeping the shape and the street-culture reference, but replacing the trucks and wheels with a mount.

It sits between fine art and design object. A framed print disappears into a wall; a deck stands off it. That physical presence is the point, and it is why skateboard art works so well in modern, design-led interiors where a conventional poster would feel flat.

Formats: single, diptych and triptych

The same artwork behaves very differently depending on how many decks it spans. Choose the format to match the wall, not just the picture.

Single deck One panel. From €140. The most flexible format — works above a desk, in a hallway, or in a cluster with others.
Diptych Two panels, one composition split across both. Around €230. Creates rhythm and fills a medium wall.
Triptych Three panels, one composition. Around €310. The statement format — the artwork only completes itself on the wall.
Limited editions Signed and numbered series, including Blueprint — 50 individually numbered decks per design.

What we print

The deckarts catalogue is built on three pillars:

  • Classical and public-domain masterpieces — Van Gogh, Klimt, Vermeer, Hokusai, Bosch, Caravaggio, Leonardo da Vinci, Munch, Kandinsky and many more, reimagined on maple.
  • Original deckarts designs — including the Blueprint series, where everyday and iconic objects are cast in a single electric ultramarine against black.
  • Artist collaborations — original work licensed directly from independent contemporary artists.

Artists we work with

deckarts collaborates directly with contemporary artists under agreement, giving each a new physical medium and giving collectors work they cannot find elsewhere.

Why deckarts rather than a print shop

  • Printed on a real 7-ply maple skateboard deck — not paper, canvas or acrylic
  • The concave shape and wood grain stay visible and become part of the piece
  • Multi-panel diptychs and triptychs split one artwork across several boards
  • Only public-domain artworks are reproduced; contemporary work is licensed directly from the artist
  • Design and print preparation are handled personally by our founder, a working print specialist

Where skateboard wall art works

Because a deck is vertical, narrow and tall, it suits places a square frame struggles with: narrow hallway walls, the gap beside a doorway, the space above a desk or console, stairwells, and tight corners in small apartments. It also anchors larger open walls when hung as a diptych or triptych, or clustered into a gallery wall.

Common settings: contemporary apartments and lofts, creative studios and offices, boutique hotels and concept spaces, and the homes of collectors and design enthusiasts.

How to hang a skateboard deck

Use a proper wall mount. deckarts sells a minimal black horizontal wall mount, supplied with 35 mm and 70 mm screws, which holds the deck flat and clean against the wall. For a no-drill option, a floor stand is also available. Hang decks at eye level — roughly 145–155 cm from floor to the centre of the piece — and leave 5–10 cm between boards in a diptych or triptych.

Shipping

deckarts ships across Germany, the European Union, the United States and internationally. Fulfilment is handled by specialised partners in Europe and the US, and every order is packed to protect the artwork in transit.

Frequently asked questions

How much does skateboard wall art cost?

At deckarts, single decks start at €140. Two-panel diptychs are around €230 and three-panel triptychs around €310. Signed, numbered limited editions are priced higher.

What size is a skateboard wall art deck?

Each deck measures 85 × 20 cm (33.5 × 7.9 in). Hung with spacing, a diptych covers roughly 45–50 cm of wall width and a triptych roughly 70–75 cm, depending on the gap you leave between boards.

What are the decks made of?

Grade-A Canadian maple, pressed in 7 plies — the same construction used for functional skateboards. The artwork is applied with high-resolution UV printing and finished matte, so there is no glare and no glass.

Can you skate on them?

Technically yes — they are real decks and could take trucks and wheels. They are made and sold as wall art, and riding one would destroy the artwork.

How do you hang a skateboard deck on a wall?

With a wall mount that clamps the deck flat to the wall. deckarts supplies a minimal black horizontal mount with two screw lengths. A floor stand is available if you would rather not drill.

Is skateboard wall art only for skaters?

No. Most deckarts customers are not skaters — they are people who want art with presence. The deck is simply the canvas; the artwork does the talking, whether it is Vermeer, a graffiti photograph or an electric-blue flamingo.

Are the artworks licensed?

Yes. deckarts reproduces only public-domain artworks — works whose copyright has expired. All contemporary artwork is created by, or licensed directly from, the artist under a collaboration agreement.

What is a diptych or triptych?

A diptych is one artwork split across two decks; a triptych splits it across three. The composition only resolves once the boards are hung together, which makes them far more striking than three unrelated pieces.

Do you ship to Germany and the EU?

Yes. deckarts is based in Berlin and ships throughout Germany and the European Union, as well as to the United States and internationally.

Who is behind deckarts?

Stanislav Arnautov, a graphic designer and DTG print specialist based in Berlin, originally from Donetsk, Ukraine. He personally selects the artwork, adapts it to the deck shape and prepares every file for print. Read more about deckarts.
