Johannes Vermeer – The Milkmaid – Classical Fine Art Skateboard Wall Art – Premium Canadian Maple Deck
Johannes Vermeer painted The Milkmaid around 1657–1658 in Delft. A kitchen maid pours milk into a bowl — that is all. But Vermeer painted the light falling through the window with such precision that it has captivated viewers for 350 years: the texture of the bread, the ceramic bowl, the maid's white cap, the rough wall behind her. X-ray analysis revealed Vermeer originally included a foot warmer and a basket in the corner, then painted them out to keep the focus absolute. The painting is at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
