Sacred Heart Pop Art Skateboard Wall Art

The Sacred Heart -- the heart of Christ depicted in flame, encircled by a crown of thorns and emitting divine light -- became one of the most widely reproduced images in Catholic devotional art after the visions of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque in 17th-century France. In the 20th century it crossed into pop culture: appearing in tattoos, Mexican folk art, and street art. The modern pop art treatment removes the devotional context and leaves the image as pure visual energy: flame, crown, light. Printed in gallery-quality UV ink on Grade-A Canadian maple.
