Grant Wood painted American Gothic in 1930, using his dentist and his sister as models for the farmer and his daughter. Wood entered it in a competition at the Art Institute of Chicago on a whim — and won a bronze medal. It was immediately controversial: some saw it as a critique of rural America, others as a celebration. Wood always refused to explain it. The painting never left the Art Institute of Chicago.

Review from Etsy

I recently started purchasing skateboards for my wall art. I have a few classic logo decks and wanted something a bit more classic art looking. I found this creator and his available prints. The American Gothic piece immediately caught my eye. The colors are great, and the print is immaculate. The creator contacted me immediately after my purchase, promptly shipped (very close to Christmas) and the order was on my doorstep in a few days. (WA/US) I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this creator, their prints and look forward to getting more of his pieces when I figure out where they will go. Thank you for this stunning piece.
