Hanging a heavy skateboard deck starts with measuring the actual object and assessing the supporting wall. General weight figures for an ordinary deck are not a substitute for weighing your piece.
Assess the complete installation
Include the deck, attached hardware and any frame or accessory. Select a display system that documents its intended application.
A mount's rating does not automatically apply to different screws, anchors, walls or orientations.
Identify the wall construction
Solid masonry, plasterboard and other surfaces require different approaches. If you cannot confidently identify the support, ask a competent installer.
Do not assume that a decorative wall surface provides structural support simply because a screw can enter it.
Use the specified components
Follow the mounting system's instructions and compatible fixing requirements. Avoid substituting fishing line, adhesive or general-purpose hooks without an appropriate assessment.
Check that the deck's existing holes and material condition suit the mount. Damaged or unusually shaped objects may need a different support.
Choose a sensible location
Consider clearance, access and the consequences of a fall. Installations above beds, seating or working areas deserve particular care.
For multiple heavy pieces, assess the total arrangement rather than rating each component in isolation.
Finish with documented checks
Inspect alignment, attachment and the supporting surface according to the instructions. Keep the product information available for future removal or maintenance.
When weight or construction is uncertain, professional assessment is a practical part of the display project.
