Displaying a skateboard without drilling can mean using an existing support, a freestanding stand or a compatible removable hanging system. These options have different requirements and none guarantees a damage-free wall.
Start with options that do not attach to the wall
A purpose-built freestanding stand can avoid wall fixings altogether. Check that it fits the deck and remains stable in the chosen location.
An existing shelf may also be suitable if the deck is supported and retained correctly. Simply leaning a board where it can slide is not a complete display system.
Assess adhesive products individually
Use an adhesive system only when its manufacturer permits the object, surface and installation arrangement. Picture-hanging strips are not automatically approved for direct attachment to a curved skateboard.
For example, 3M excludes textured walls and wallpaper from its standard Command picture-strip applications. Consult the exact product instructions rather than transferring a rating from another version.
Understand removal
A removable product can still affect weak paint or an unsuitable surface. Follow the stated removal method and do not assume that adding more adhesive guarantees a stronger or cleaner installation.
Check replacement requirements before rehanging.
Choose for the actual room
Consider people passing nearby, doors and the consequences of a fall. Do not use an uncertain adhesive setup above beds or occupied seating.
If no documented no-drill system suits the deck and room, reconsider the location or use an appropriately assessed fixed mount.
Avoiding holes is a preference; choosing a suitable support remains necessary.
